Senator Helming's Community Update, February 23, 2017

As the Senate's Rural Resources Commission Chair, I am looking at ways to expand our state's agriculture industry and improve accessibility to our rural communities. While in Albany recently, I had the opportunity to meet with local FFA students to hear their ideas on how we can improve agriculture in New York, and I voted in favor of legislation to allow ride sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft to operate in Upstate communities.

Back in the district, I met with Webster Town Supervisor Ron Nesbitt and his leadership team to talk about the needs of the Webster community and toured the beautiful Webster Public Library.
