On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Senator Funke joined school leaders and local education advocates including Superintendent Michael Pero to announce that language the Senator inserted into the 2018-2019 State budget will allow Pittsford to move forward with Full-Day Kindergarten.

Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently had the opportunity to visit with AP Government students at Smithtown High School West to talk to them about his role as New York State Majority Leader.  The visit, which was arranged by Smithtown West teachers Erica Geldmacher and Joe Gatto, provided Senator Flanagan with the opportunity to speak with these students about the inner-workings of the Senate and to discuss important issues facing New York State.

New York, NY (4-4-17) – For the fourth year, State Senator Kevin Parker hosted energy experts from across the nation at the Intersolar Summit USA East 2018. The event, which took place the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Time Square, attracted more than 400 people who discussed and explored ways to continue educating and executing a clear strategy to reach clean and renewable energy solutions to meet consumer needs. Senator Parker, the Ranking Democratic Member on the Senate Committee on Energy and Telecommunications, delivered the keynote address to kickoff the daylong event.

The recently passed 2018-2019 makes improvements on both policy and revenue items, but falls short of the progressive leadership New York is renowned for throughout the nation and world.

Constituents in need of legal advice were able to get some free help on Monday, April 9, thanks to Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG).

Addabbo greeted residents as they entered NYLAG’s Mobile Legal Help Center outside of the Beth Gavriel Bukharian Congregation in Forest Hills to get their free legal assistance.

The New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Awards - nomination process has closed. 

Senator DeFrancisco will present the selected students with a New York State Senate Certificate of Recognition in the next coming weeks. Participating schools were invited to nominate a maximum of three junior or senior students for the program. The deadline for online nominations was April 11th, and April 12th, for all other submissions. Thank you for all those schools that participated.
