Alyssa Carrion
US Army

Alyssa Carrion served in the United States Army and Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Captain.

Ms. Carrion graduated from Carmel High School in 2000. She went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Spanish and Portuguese, graduating in 2004.

A commissioned officer in the United States Army, Ms. Carrion served as a Military Police Officer. She was on active duty from 2004-2009, and completed her Reserve commitment in 2012.

While serving as a Platoon Leader in the 571st Military Police Company, Ms. Carrion was deployed to Egypt in 2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After serving as a Platoon Leader, she went on to serve as the Operations Officer for the 80th Ordnance Battalion, and the Executive Officer for the 508th MP Detachment (R).

Ms. Carrion earned numerous awards and recognitions including the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Achievement Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, and a Meritorious Service Medal for her exemplary service.

Ms. Carrion also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Washington and a Paralegal Certificate from Boston University.

Currently, Ms. Carrion works for Mental Health America of Dutchess County as the Program Manager for the Veterans’ Housing, Empowerment, Reassurance and Occupation Program, helping house homeless veterans in Dutchess County.

Ms. Carrion resides in Carmel, New York, with her partner, Mitch, and her two awesome kids, Inara and Connor.
