NY Farm Bureau honors Razenhofer in 'Circle of Friends'

The New York Farm Bureau has honored State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer with the ‘Circle of Friends’ Legislative Award for the 2009 Legislative Session.

“It is an honor to be recognized in the Farm Bureau’s ‘Circle of Friends’ and it is a pleasure to represent many farms and agri-businesses in our community.  As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I will continue to work with my colleagues in Albany and with the members of my Agricultural Advisory Committee to protect the future generations of our local farms,” said Senator Ranzenhofer.

State Senate Passes Bill to Open Up “Custom Crush” Wine Sales

WATERTOWN (January 27, 2010)—State Sen. Darrel J. Production levels seen as a key to milk prices

Reigning in milk production levels is seen as one way to stabilize volatile milk prices that have left many local dairy farms in dire straits.

Ellenburg dairy farmer James Normandin organized a meeting with state Sen. Betty Little and representatives of two dairy cooperatives last month. Normandin said Clinton County dairy farmers lost an estimated $20.9 million in 2009. Across the state, that figure is believed to have been $669 million, he said.
