KLEIN PRESENTS $7,500 TO BRONX THEATER

NEW YORK- On Friday, Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) presented a $7,500 grant to the Center Stage Playhouse at Foster Hall in the Bronx. The money will be used for funding musicians and directors.

Senator Farley Issues NYS Senate Resolution for Pipe Band's Accomplishments

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) was pleased to honor the Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band with a New York State Senate Resolution on Feb. 9th at the State Capitol for the group placing third in the juvenile division of the World Pipe Band Championships, held in Glasgow, Scotland, on Aug. 15, 2009. Honorees included: Maureen Connor, Alex Allendorph, Ryker Bodo, Colin Dowd, Jackson Kovalchik, Hayden LaBelle, Michael Miller, Michael Soressi, Bryan Wilson, Colin Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Reid Perry, and instructor Eric MacNeill.

Serrano Chairs Committee Meeting with Arts Organizations Regarding Governor's Proposed Budget, Discusses Patterson's 21-Day Amendment

(Albany, NY)- After chairing a meeting of the Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee yesterday, Senator José M. Serrano (D-Manhattan/Bronx) reported that Governor David A. Patterson’s release of his 21-day amendment to the 2010-11 Executive Budget was a small step in the right direction in regards to the restoration of funding for the arts.

Senator Tom Duane and Senate President Malcolm A. Smith Allocate $7.5 Million In Funding To Support Renovations To Lincoln Center

The funding will go towards costs for the design, architecture and engineering of Alice Tully Hall.

(New York, NY)- Senate President Pro Tempore Malcolm A. Smith along with Senator Tom Duane presented a $7.5 Million capital funding allocation to  Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts to be used for its ongoing redevelopment of the recently renovated Alice Tully Hall.

The check will go towards costs for the design, architecture and engineering of the hall.
