Inauguration 2010: A Day Of Celebration And Service

The Report includes fields for the employee name, the employing office, city of employment, the employee title, the employee biweekly or hourly rate (whichever applies), the employee payroll type (see below), the pay period, the pay period's beginning and end date, the check date and the employing legislative entity.

It's a victory for New York drivers.

Governor Paterson is backing down on those new license plates. The governor calls it a Christmas present to the people and he says it shows he's listening. You won't have to pay $25 for those new blue and gold license plates after all.

And rather than cut spending, they invent new fees, charges and surcharges so they can, as Sen. Little said, get "every nickle they can get" from the people.

Finally, as if the Senate coup over the summer that shut down state government didn't do enough to erase any shred of credibility the Legislature might have had left, former Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno went and got himself convicted on federal fraud charges in a trial that exposed Albany's power-for-money culture.

Betty Little: N.Y.'s government has gone mad

GLENS FALLS -- Dysfunction in state government is the worst it has been in her 14 years in the Legislature, said state Sen. Elizabeth Little.

"It is now beyond dysfunction. It is madness, or something," Little, R-Queensbury, said Thursday at a meeting with The Post-Star editorial board.
