CAREER EXPO A SUCCESS

Hundreds gain job advice to landing the perfect job

Nearly 300 Oswego County residents joined Senator Patty Ritchie at her first-ever Career and Resource Expo that linked employers and job-counseling agencies with individuals looking for a job, a new career, or just seeking to boost their job-search skills.

Senator Ritchie’s Career and Resource Expo, held Thursday at the Fulton War Memorial, was jointly sponsored by Fulton Mayor Ron Woodward, United Way of Oswego County, SUNY Oswego’s Business Development Center, the Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and Workforce New York.

Announcement From NYS Senator Eric Adams: JOB FAIR

Youth America, Inc., in partnership with NYS Senator Eric Adams, hosted a job fair on June 9, 2011, in the 20th senatorial district to provide employment opportunities for local residents. 

The economic collapse that occurred three years ago still affects thousands of New Yorkers, and the high unemployment rate generates distress for individuals and families at every level. Over 40 employers participated in this job fair, which provided a host of employment opportunities for many jobless New Yorkers.  At last year's job fair, numerous individuals were hired on the spot and many received opportunities for second interviews that led to meaningful employment.

50 BUSINESSES, AGENCIES AT CAREER EXPO THURSDAY

Fulton Event Can Help CNYers Find New Careers

State Senator Patty Ritchie’s Career and Resource Expo on Thursday will feature 50 businesses and agencies looking to help Central New Yorkers find new careers.

“With the economy picking up, companies are starting to hire,” Senator Ritchie said. “This event will help people reentering the job market, high school and college grads and folks who are looking for new careers to see what’s available in the greater Oswego area.”

Senator Parker Jobs Fair on CBS 2 News

State Senator Kevin Parker in partnership with Penda Aiken, Inc. hosted his 4th Annual Job Fair which featured more than 25 federal, state, private and non-profit companies.  Some of the hiring entities participating included: United Parcel Service, City University of New York (CUNY), Time Warner Cable, St. Francis College, Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., Partners in Care, FDNY, United States Customs Border Police,  New York State Department of Corrections, Visiting Nurse Services of New York and .

SENATOR RITCHIE TO HOST CAREER, RESOURCE EXPO IN FULTON

Event will pair employers and agencies to get Oswego County residents hired

State Senator Patty Ritchie today announced that she is teaming with Central New York employers and agencies to host a Career and Resource Expo with the goal of allowing more Oswego County residents to hear the words, “You’re Hired!”

The first-of-its-kind event will be held on Thursday, June 9, from 2 pm to 6 pm, at the Fulton War Memorial, on West Broadway, and will feature over 40 agencies and employers from the region, including businesses who are ready to hire.

Housing Works vistited Senator Huntley to discuss S. 2873: The Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GEND) sponsored by Senator Duane. This bill is the first step to ending the legal discrimination and social barriers faced by transgender people.

GENDA will:

Ensure equality in education, housing, healthcare and employment regardless of gender expression or identity
Enhance safety for all transgender people, especially the poor and homeless at high risk of getting HIV
Promote culturally competent medical care and delivery
