Senator Bonacic Secures a $1 Million Grant for the Center for Discovery

(Middletown, NY)- State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) announced today that he has secured a $1 million Transportation, Infrastructure and Economic Development grant for The Center for Discovery to assist with the renovation of the former Frontier Insurance building in Rock Hill. Joining Senator Bonacic at today’s announcement was Patrick H. Dollard, President and CEO of The Center for Discovery.

The Center for Discovery recently announced plans to purchase the former Frontier building in Rock Hill, with a plan to create a sub-acute children’s specialty hospital, a research institute, and an expansion of its existing 853 school program, all of which will focus on a variety of complex conditions, including autism.  The grant secured by Senator Bonacic will help support the renovation of the building, which will cost $25 million.

This grant will assist The Center in its latest endeavor, and ensure that it can continue making a difference in the lives of so many people.”
