On Sunday, October 27th, 2013, Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I- Mt. Hope), will appear on “Up Close” with Diana Williams on ABC Channel 7.  The show broadcasts on ABC Channel 7 (out of New York City) at 11 am on Sunday.  The show was recorded Friday afternoon.

Senator Bonacic will be discussing the proposed casino gaming Constitutional amendment and the thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in investment the amendment’s passage can bring to New York State.

Senator Bonacic is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Racing, Gaming and Wagering .  “If New Yorkers want more jobs, more funding for education, and lower property taxes, they should vote for Proposition 1 on Election Day.  Casino gaming is already around us – with the profits going to companies in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.   We have an opportunity to keep New York dollars in New York and bring dollars from elsewhere to our schools and local communities,” Senator Bonacic said.

Senator Bonacic noted that the amendment would enable the revitalization of destination resorts in areas like the Catskills, Saratoga, and the Finger Lakes/Tioga  regions.  “The resorts that would be developed would be far more than gaming – they are four season resorts that will help grow our State’s tourism base.   The shows, lodging, and complete tourism amenities offered at these modern resorts will serve as a major catalyst for investment in these regions,” Senator Bonacic concluded.
