Sen. Martinez to host community BBQ and school supply distribution Aug. 30 in Wheatley Heights

New York State Sen. Monica R. Martinez will host an End of Summer Community BBQ this Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hermann Griem Park, 54 Brown Blvd., Wheatley Heights.  The free community event will feature food, a backpack and school supply distribution, barber services for children heading back to school, fun games, music, prizes, treats, and more. Backpacks and supplies will be available while supplies last. No registration is required.

Earlier this month, Sen. Martinez hosted a similar Back-to-School Backpack and Supply Distribution in Brentwood that provided supplies to approximately 1,200 students.
