BILL NUMBER:A7202 TITLE OF BILL: An act to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation contracts of the Eden central school district PURPOSE: Relates to the transportation contracts for Hamburg central School District. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This bill rectifies submission errors made by Eden central School district when filing transportation agreements from the 2007-08 school year. JUSTIFICATION: The Eden Central School District made an error in submitting transporta- tion contracts for the 2007-2008 school year, and as a result, the State Department of Education did not approve them. In order for Eden Central to receive the correct amount of state transportation aid these past contract numbers must now be validated through special legislation. Failure to receive reimbursement of the transportation contract costs would create undue fiscal hardship to the school district and its students. LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
