AN ACT to amend chapter 438 of the laws of 2008, relating to authorizing
  the  city  of  Elmira, county of Chemung, to transfer ownership of the
  Mark Twain Golf  Course,  in  relation  to  making  certain  technical
  corrections thereto

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 438 of the laws of 2008,  relating  to
authorizing the city of Elmira, county of Chemung, to transfer ownership
of the Mark Twain Golf Course, is amended to read as follows:
  Section  1.   The city of Elmira, Chemung county, is hereby authorized
to discontinue as parklands and alienate,  sell  and  convey  the  lands
described  in section [three] FOUR of this act and in exchange therefor,
dedicate as parklands the lands described in section [four] SIX of  this
act,  such land to be used for park purposes. The Elmira city council is
hereby authorized and empowered to discontinue as parklands  and  convey
property  known  as  the  Mark  Twain  Golf  Course as more particularly
described in section four of this act and heretofore acquired  and  used
by such city for park purposes in the county of Chemung upon terms to be
fixed  and determined by such governing body, to a not-for-profit corpo-
ration, for use by such not-for-profit corporation to continue as a golf
course open to the public.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
