AN ACT to amend chapter 271 of the laws of 2006, amending  the  environ-
  mental  conservation  law  relating  to  adding areas of Ulster county
  within the Catskill park to  the  Hudson  river  valley  greenway,  in
  relation to the effectiveness of such chapter

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 271 of the laws of 2006, amending  the
environmental conservation law relating to adding areas of Ulster county
within the Catskill park to the Hudson river valley greenway, is amended
to read as follows:
  S  3. This act shall take effect immediately[, and shall expire and be
deemed repealed on January 1, 2009].
  S 2. Notwithstanding the  provisions  of  article  5  of  the  general
construction  law,  the  provisions  of chapter 271 of the laws of 2006,
amending the environmental conservation law relating to adding areas  of
Ulster  county within the Catskill park to the Hudson river greenway, as
amended by section one of this act, are hereby revived and shall contin-
ue in full force and effect as such provisions existed on  December  31,
2008.
  S  3.  This  act  shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to
have been in full force and effect on and after December 31, 2008.
