AN ACT to amend chapter 342 of the laws of 2005,  amending  the  racing,
  pari-mutuel  wagering and breeding law relating to establishing a task
  force on the utilization of retired race horses, in  relation  to  the
  effectiveness thereof

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 342 of the laws of 2005, amending  the
racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law relating to establishing a
task  force  on  the  utilization  of retired race horses, as amended by
chapter 392 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as follows:
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  expire  and  be
deemed repealed December 31, [2011] 2013.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

  reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee

AN  ACT  to  amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, in
  relation to the task force's report, and to amend chapter 342  of  the
  laws  of  2005, amending the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding
  law relating to establishing  a  task  force  on  the  utilization  of
  retired race horses, in relation to the effectiveness thereof

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1.  Subdivision 5 of section 909 of  the  racing,  pari-mutuel
wagering  and  breeding  law,  as  amended by chapter 293 of the laws of
2007, is amended to read as follows:
  5. Not later than [three years after this section shall have become  a
law] DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST, TWO THOUSAND ELEVEN AND ANNUALLY THEREAFTER,
the  task  force shall report to the governor and the legislature on its
activities, findings, and recommendations.
  S 2. Section 2 of chapter 342  of  the  laws  of  2005,  amending  the
racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law relating to establishing a
task  force  on  the  utilization  of retired race horses, as amended by
chapter 392 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as follows:
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  expire  and  be
deemed repealed December 31, [2011] 2013.
  S  3.  This  act shall take effect immediately provided, however, that
the amendments to subdivision 5 of section 909 of the racing, pari-mutu-
el wagering and breeding law made by section one of this act  shall  not
affect  the  repeal  of such section and shall be deemed repealed there-
with.
