AN ACT to authorize certain health care professionals licensed to  prac-
  tice  in  other  jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection
  with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  inconsistent  provision of law, any
person who is licensed to practice as a physician,  physician's  assist-
ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto-
metrist,  nurse,  nurse  practitioner  or podiatrist in another state or
territory, who is in good standing in such state or  territory  and  who
has  been appointed by the New York Road Runners to provide professional
services at an event in this state  sanctioned  by  the  New  York  Road
Runners,  may  provide  such  professional services to athletes and team
personnel registered to train at a location in this state or  registered
to compete in an event conducted under the sanction of the New York Road
Runners  in  the  state  without  first  being  licensed pursuant to the
provisions of title 8 of the  education  law.  Such  services  shall  be
provided  only  during  the  time  period specified by the New York Road
Runners.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

  the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  inconsistent  provision of law, any
person who is licensed to practice as a physician,  physician's  assist-
ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto-
metrist,  nurse,  nurse  practitioner  or podiatrist in another state or
territory, who is in good standing in such state or  territory  and  who
has  been appointed by the New York Road Runners to provide professional

2011;
  b. the Brooklyn half marathon scheduled to be held on May 21, 2011;
  c. the Queens half marathon scheduled to be held on July 30, 2011;
  d. the Bronx half marathon scheduled to be held on August 27, 2011;
  e. the Staten Island half marathon scheduled to be held on October  9,
2011;

trist in another state or territory, who is in  good  standing  in  such
state  or  territory  and  who  has  been appointed by the New York Road
Runners to provide professional services at an event in this state sanc-
tioned by the New York  Road  Runners,  may  provide  such  professional
services  to  athletes  and  team  personnel  registered  to  train at a
location in this state or registered to compete in  an  event  conducted
under  the  sanction  of  the New York Road Runners in the state without
first being licensed pursuant to the provisions of title 8 of the educa-
tion law. Such services shall be provided only four days before  through
one day after each of the following events:
  a. the Queens half marathon scheduled to be held on July 30, 2011;
  b. the Bronx half marathon scheduled to be held on August 27, 2011;
