BILL NUMBER:S4838 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 709 of the laws of 2005, relating to authorizing the commissioner of general services to convey certain land in Queens county to the city of New York department of parks and recreation, in relation to omitting the requirement that the property be conveyed within one year PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: In 2005 A8421A was chaptered; this law allows for the transfer of state land to the New York City Parks Department by the commissioner of New York State Office of General Services. However, there was a requirement that this property be conveyed in one year, unfortunately the New York City parks department and Queens County could not complete this transfer within this one year period. This bill removes this requirement so that this transfer marl, be completed at an appropriate time. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of the bill amends chapter 709 of the laws of 2005 to omit the requirement that property in Queens county be conveyed to the

AVELLA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation AN ACT to amend chapter 709 of the laws of 2005, relating to authorizing the commissioner of general services to convey certain land in Queens county to the city of New York department of parks and recreation, in relation to omitting the requirement that the property be conveyed within one year THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 709 of the laws of 2005, relating to authorizing the commissioner of general services to convey certain land in Queens county to the city of New York department of parks and recre- ation, is amended to read as follows: S 3. The commissioner of general services is authorized to fix and determine the terms and conditions of such conveyance[; provided, howev- er, that such conveyance shall take place within one year of the effec- tive date of this act]. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD07498-01-1

Section 3 of chapter 709 of the laws of 2005, relating to authorizing the commissioner of general services to convey certain land in Queens county to the city of New York department of parks and recre- ation, is amended to read as follows: S 3.
