TITLE OF BILL:
An act
requiring the placement of the New York State tourism website on any
advertisement or public service announcement funded with state money
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
This bill seeks to increase traffic to the state tourism website by
placing the web address on all state advertisements in a manner so as
to be easily read by consumers.
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section one of the bill requires that the Internet website address for
the state tourism website, and the "I Love NY" logo, be displayed in
an easily readable manner on all state funded advertisements and
public service announcements. The bill requires such placement
provided that it does not interfere with the message or focus of the
advertisement.
JUSTIFICATION:
New York annually funds and produces hundreds of television, print and
Internet web advertisements and announcements. At little or no cost
the "I Love NY" logo and web address would be incorporated in all
ads. It will enhance top of mind awareness. Additionally, it can
amount to free tourism advertising in multiple out of State markets

AN ACT requiring the placement of the New York State tourism website on
any advertisement or public service announcement funded with state
money
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Logo placement. Any visual advertisements or public service
announcements, including print, television, and internet media, financed
with monies of the state shall have placed within such media, and main-
tained for a duration so as to be easily recognized and read, the logo
"I Love NY" as licensed by the department of economic development, as
well as the internet address of the official New York state tourism
website. Such placement must be incorporated in such a way that does not
detract from or conflict with the primary focus of the advertisement or
public service announcement.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
This bill seeks to increase tourism through New York State.
Specifically, the bill seeks to increase traffic to the state tourism
website by placing the web address on various websites,
advertisements and public service announcements.
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section one of the bill requires that the Internet website address for
the state tourism website, and the "I Love NY" logo and website link,
be displayed in an easily readable manner on the websites of the
department of agriculture and markets, department of environmental
conservation, office of parks, recreation and historic preservation,
New York State council on the arts, Metropolitan Transportation
Authority, the thruway authority, the canal corporation, the Olympic
regional development corporation, the Adirondack park agency, Battery
Park City, the Hudson River greenway, Hudson River Park, and tourism
promotional agencies which receive state matching funds.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
