BILL NUMBER:S7532 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to authorizing the Monroe County Water Authority to lease and maintain water systems owned by the towns of Richmond and Canadice PURPOSE: Allows the Monroe County Water Authority to lease and maintain the water systems of the towns of Richmond and Canadice. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation amends Subdivisions 4, 6 and 7 of section 1096 of the public authorities law, to add the towns of Richmond and Canadice to the existing list of municipalities whose water systems can be leased and maintained by the MCWA. JUSTIFICATION: The towns of Richmond and Canadice would like to explore the opportunity to contract with the Monroe County Water Authority (MCWA) to provide water service to their community. However, the MCWA's current statute does not include the towns of Richmond and Canadice. This bill would add the towns of Richmond and Canadice to the existing list of munici- palities whose water systems can be leased and maintained by the MCWA. LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
