BILL NUMBER:S4872 TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to providing an exemption for the Nanuet County school district from certain requirements regarding valu- ation of the aggregate non-homestead tax share assessment; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof PURPOSE OF THE BILL: This bill would exempt the Nanuet school district from certain provisions in the real property tax law. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of this bill provides that the Nanuet School district, located in Rockland County, shall not be subject to the provisions on subpara- graph (ii) of paragraph (c) of subdivision 4 of section 1903-a of the real property tax law. Section 2 of this bill relates to the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: This bill would exempt the Nanuet School District from a requirement to have no more than 57.5% of non-homestead property in one town. The school district will need to temporarily surpass this threshold due to a

ZEBROWSKI, JAFFEE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Real Property Taxation AN ACT in relation to providing an exemption for the Nanuet County school district from certain requirements regarding valuation of the aggregate non-homestead tax share assessment; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the Nanuet school district, located in the county of Rockland, shall not be subject to the provisions of subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (c) of subdivision 4 of section 1903-a of the real property tax law. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed June 30, 2023.
