BILL NUMBER:S6333 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the executive law, in relation to designating the Battenkill river as an inland waterway for purposes of waterfront revitalization PURPOSE: This bill adds the Battenkill River to the definition of "inland waterways" for purposes of waterfront revitalization. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 -amends paragraph (b) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the executive law to add the Battenkill River to the definition of "inland waterways." Section 2- contains the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: This bill originated as a local request to add the Battenkill River to the definition of "inland waterways" to permit the communities in the area to apply for grants under the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and would allow for further competitiveness.

LITTLE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to designating the Battenkill river as an inland waterway for purposes of waterfront revitalization THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the execu- tive law, as separately amended by chapters 32 and 133 of the laws of 2012, is amended to read as follows: (b) the state's major rivers comprised of the Allegheny, Ausable, BATTENKILL, Black, Boquet, Canisteo, Chaumont (including Chaumont bay), Chemung, Cohocton, Delaware, Deer, Genesee, Grasse, Hudson north of the federal dam at Troy, Indian, Little (in the Adirondack park), Little Salmon (including north and south branches), Mad, Mettowee, Mohawk, Oswegatchie, Racquette, Sacandaga, Salmon, Saranac, Susquehanna, Tioga, Tioughnioga, Wallkill and Buffalo rivers, and the north and middle branches of the Moose river; S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13452-01-4
