BILL NUMBER:S7817 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend part A of chapter 56 of the laws of 2014 amending the education law relating to the closure of charter schools, in relation to the effectiveness of certain provisions thereof PURPOSE: To amend the effective date for Part A of chapter 56 of the laws of 2014 SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: When the budget was passed earlier in the year, an effective date was made for Part A of chapter 56 of the laws of 2014. This date failed to provide the breadth of coverage for the provisions contained within this section of the budget. This bill would amend this date and allow the effective date of the provision to be July 1, 2013 JUSTIFICATION: Due to a technical error in the passage of the budget, the wrong date was inserted into Part A of chapter 56 of the laws of 2014. This bill would correct this oversight and insert the date that will provide an adequate level of coverage regarding this provision.
