BILL NUMBER:S1013 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Adirondack Coast Wine Trail" PURPOSE: Designates a portion of the state highway system as the "Adirondack Coast Wine Trail" SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1- Amends section 343-k of the highway law to include the "Adirondack Coast Wine Trail" Section 2- Amends section 343-k of the highway law to designate portion of the highway in Clinton county as the "Adirondack Coast Wine Trail" Section 3- Contains the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: There has been a great interest in establishing wineries and vineyards in the North Country. The section heading of section 343-k of the highway law, as amended by chapter 215 of the laws of 2007, is amended to read as follows: Portions of the state highway system to be designated as the "Chautau- qua Wine Trail", the "Canandaigua Wine Trail", the "Cayuga Wine Trail East", the "Cayuga Wine Trail West", the "Seneca Lake Wine Trail East", the "Seneca Lake Wine Trail West", the "Keuka Lake Wine Trail", the "Shawangunk Wine Trail", the "Dutchess Wine Trail", the "North Fork Wine Trail", the "Hamptons Wine Trail", the "Long Island Wine Region", the "Niagara Escarpment Wine Trail", the "Niagara Wine Trail" [and], the "Lake Ontario Wine Trail" AND THE "ADIRONDACK COAST WINE TRAIL". S 2. Section 343-k of the highway law, as added by chapter 490 of the laws of 1999, is amended by adding a new subdivision 9 to read as follows: 9. ALL THAT PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM CONSTITUTING STATE ROUTE 22-B FROM EXIT 35 OF INTERSTATE ROUTE 87 IN THE TOWN OF PERU AND CONTINUING IN A GENERALLY NORTHERLY DIRECTION ON STATE ROUTE 22-B TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE ROUTE 190 IN THE TOWN OF SCHUYLER FALLS, AND CONTINUING NORTHERLY ON STATE ROUTE 190 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE ROUTE 374 IN THE TOWN OF PLATTSBURGH, AND CONTINUING EASTERLY ON STATE ROUTE 374 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE ROUTE 22 IN THE TOWN OF PLATTS- BURGH, AND CONTINUING NORTHERLY ON STATE ROUTE 22 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE ROUTE 11 IN THE TOWN OF MOOERS, AND CONTINUING EASTERLY ON STATE ROUTE 11 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE ROUTE 9 IN THE TOWN OF EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
