BILL NUMBER:S5728 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the New York state urban development corporation act, in relation to extending certain provisions relating to the empire state economic development fund SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends subdivision 3 of section 16-m of section 1 of Chapter 174 of the Laws of 1968. Section 2 sets the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: AND PURPOSE: This legislation would continue the authorization of the Urban Development Corporation's administration of the Economic Development Fund which provides loans, loan guarantees, interest subsidies and grants to various economic development projects throughout the State. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: New bill. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None. EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately.

RANZENHOFER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Author- ities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the New York state urban development corporation act, in relation to extending certain provisions relating to the empire state economic development fund THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 16-m of section 1 of chapter 174 of the laws of 1968, constituting the New York state urban development corporation act, as amended by section 1 of part S of chapter 58 of the laws of 2012, is amended to read as follows: 3. The provisions of this section shall expire, notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of subdivision 4 of section 469 of chapter 309 of the laws of 1996 or of any other law, on July 1, [2013] 2014. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD11042-01-3
