BILL NUMBER:S7642

TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the correction law, in relation to
making technical corrections thereto

PURPOSE:

This bill fixes an incorrect reference to a subdivision in section 500
of the correction law.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

Section one fixes a technical error in section 500 of the correction
law, which governs local correctional facilities, by changing the
reference to the definition of a local correctional facility from
subdivision fifteen to subdivision sixteen of section 2 of the
correction law.

Section two states that this act shall take effect immediately.

JUSTIFICATION:

Section 500 of the correction law incorrectly references the wrong
subdivision of section 2 of the correction law in regards to the
definition of a "local correctional facility." Subdivision sixteen of
section 2 of the correction law provides this definition. This bill
makes a technical change to section 500 of the correction law to
reference the correct subdivision.

LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:

New bill.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:

None.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

Immediately.
