BILL NUMBER: S5854 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Captain John J. Levulis Memorial Highway" PURPOSE : To designate a portion of state route 75 in the county of Erie as the "Captain John J. Levulis Memorial Highway." SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section 1. Amends the highway law to designate the portion of state route 75 that runs from the Hamburg and Eden town line, in a generally southerly direction, to the Eden and North Collins town line as the "Captain John J. Levulis Memorial Highway." Section 2. Provides for the signing and maintenance of this designation, and provides that this designation is of a ceremonial nature and does not change the official name of state route 75. Section 3. Provides that this act shall take effect immediately.

Levulis Memorial Highway" THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-d to read as follows: S 344-D. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE "CAPTAIN JOHN J. LEVULIS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY". ALL THAT PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM CONSTITUTING STATE ROUTE SEVENTY-FIVE IN THE TOWN OF EDEN, COUNTY OF ERIE, BEGINNING AT THE HAMBURG AND EDEN TOWN LINE, CONTINUING IN A GENERALLY SOUTHERLY DIRECTION, AND TERMINATING AT THE EDEN AND NORTH COLLINS TOWN LINE, SHALL BE DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS THE "CAPTAIN JOHN J. LEVULIS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY". S 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- nations called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be of a ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be changed as a result of this act.
