AN ACT to require the director of the  classification  and  compensation
  division  of the civil service department to establish various classi-
  fications for nurse practitioners

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  The director of the classification and compensation divi-
sion of the civil service department shall  classify  various  positions
for  nurse  practitioners,  as licensed by section 6910 of the education
law, and shall allocate appropriate salary  grades  for  such  positions
according  to the board certification, job duties, education and experi-
ence levels of such nurse practitioners.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
