BILL NUMBER: S7311
TITLE OF BILL :
An act to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in relation to
hours of sale for on-premises consumption of alcoholic beverages at
licensed premises in Erie county
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF THE BILL :
This bill would change the hours in Erie County that a restaurant can
serve alcohol on Sunday. It would bring Sunday in line with the other
days of the week.
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS :
This bill will amend section 106 of the alcoholic beverage control law
by adding section 5-a which would change the hours a retailer for
on-premises consumption of alcohol in Erie County to the hours to
begin at 8 am.
JUSTIFICATION :
Over the past several years, numerous craft breweries and
distilleries, along with many new restaurants, have opened up
throughout Western New York. With this growth has come renewed

AN ACT to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in relation to hours
of sale for on-premises consumption of alcoholic beverages at licensed
premises in Erie county
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 5 of section 106 of the alco-
holic beverage control law, as amended by chapter 83 of the laws of
1995, is amended to read as follows:
(a) Sunday, from four ante meridiem to twelve noon; PROVIDED, HOWEVER,
IN THE COUNTY OF ERIE, FROM FOUR ANTE MERIDIEM TO EIGHT ANTE MERIDIEM.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

[ ] is old law to be omitted.
