BILL NUMBER: S7871 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend chapter 80 of the laws of 2014, amending the vehicle and traffic law relating to the residential parking system in the village of Bronxville in the county of Westchester, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : To permit the Village of Bronxville to extend its local law allowing for a residential parking permit system for a period of a year. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : Changes the expiration date of the law from January 1, 2017 to January 1, 2018. JUSTIFICATION : The Village of Bronxville sought a law to allow a permit parking system for the period of significant construction displacing neighborhood residents. The construction is not finished and it is seeking an extension of the parking system for the period of a year. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY :

LATIMER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend chapter 80 of the laws of 2014, amending the vehicle and traffic law relating to the residential parking system in the village of Bronxville in the county of Westchester, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 80 of the laws of 2014, amending the vehicle and traffic law relating to the residential parking system in the village of Bronxville in the county of Westchester, is amended to read as follows: S 3. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall have become a law and shall expire on January 1, [2017] 2018 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14822-01-6
