BILL NUMBER: S8103 TITLE OF BILL : An act authorizing the alienation of certain parklands in the town of Islip, county of Suffolk PURPOSE : This bill authorizes the town of Islip to alienate and replace parkland. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : Section 1. Provides the town of Islip's governing body authority to discontinue as parklands and alienate the land described in section 3. Section 2. Requires the town of Islip to replace the alienated parkland with the land described in section 4. Section 3. Provides the metes and bounds description of the parkland being alienated. Section 4. Provides the metes and bounds description of the land that will be used to replace the current park. Section 5. CROCI -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT authorizing the alienation of certain parklands in the town of Islip, county of Suffolk THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act, the town of Islip, acting by and through its town board, is hereby authorized to discontin- ue as parklands and alienate the lands more particularly described in section three of this act, and to sell and convey such parklands upon such terms and conditions as determined by the town board of Islip. S 2. The authorization contained in section one of this act shall only be effective on the condition that the town of Islip shall dedicate the lands described in section four of this act as additional parkland of the town. S 3. The land to be discontinued as parkland and alienated and conveyed is bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING AT A POINT, said point being 125 ft. east from the inter- section formed from the easterly side of Lowell Ave. and the north side of Cypress Ave. RUNNING THENCE in a northerly direction N7°40'00"W 233.00 feet to a point; RUNNING THENCE in an easterly directly N82°20"00"E 125.00 feet to a point; RUNNING THENCE in a northerly direction N7°40"00"W 33.00 feet to a point; RUNNING THENCE in an easterly direction N82°20'00"E 100.00 feet to a point; RUNNING THENCE in a southerly direction S7°40'00"E 266.00 feet to a point; RUNNING THENCE in a westerly direction S82°20'00"W 225.00 feet to point or place of beginning. The said parcel containing 1.2 acres ±. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15860-01-6
