Provides that the town of East Hampton, county of Suffolk may only enter into grant assurances or obligations where the term is ten years or more with the state of New York or the United States or any agency, or instrumentality thereof, for airport and aviation projects at the town airport or landing field upon the adoption of a resolution subject to permissive referendum.

THIELE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to provide that the town of East Hampton, county of Suffolk, may only enter into grant assurances or obligations where the term of such assurances or obligations are ten years or more with the state of New York or the United States, or any agency, or instrumentality thereof, for airport and aviation projects at the town airport or landing field upon the adoption of a resolution subject to permissive referendum THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the town board of the town of East Hampton may only enter into grant assur- ances or obligations where the term of such assurances or obligations are ten years or more with: (a) the state of New York; or (b) the United States, or any agency, or instrumentality thereof, in connection with airport and aviation projects at the town airport or landing field, upon the adoption of a resolution subject to permissive referendum, as provided by article 7 of the town law. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09234-01-7
