   Victim Services) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Govern-
   mental Operations
 
 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to  eligibility  for  the
   reimbursement of crime scene cleanup

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Paragraph (k) of subdivision 1 of section 624 of the execu-
 tive law, as added by chapter 119 of the laws of  2013,  is  amended  to
 read as follows:
   (k)  a  surviving  spouse,  GRANDPARENT, PARENT, STEPPARENT, GUARDIAN,
 BROTHER, SISTER, STEPBROTHER,  STEPSISTER,  child  [or],  stepchild,  OR
 GRANDCHILD  of  a  victim of a crime who died as a direct result of such
 crime and where such crime occurred in  the  residence  shared  by  such
 family member or members and the victim.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
 it  shall  have  become a law, and shall apply to all claims filed on or
 after such effective date.
