BILL NUMBER: S3370 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, in relation to the qualifications of members of the gaming commission PURPOSE : To provide expertise to the New York State Gambling Commission on issues related to problem gambling. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : This legislation will require at least one of the Commission's seven board members significant experience in the prevention and treatment of compulsive gambling. SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Racing, Gaming and Wager- ing AN ACT to amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, in relation to the qualifications of members of the gaming commission THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraphs (c) and (d) of subdivision 2 of section 102 of the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, as added by section 1 of part A of chapter 60 of the laws of 2012, are amended and a new para- graph (e) is added to read as follows: (c) professional experience in gaming or racing regulatory adminis- tration or gaming or racing industry management, [or] (d) significant experience in the fields of criminal investigation, law enforcement, or law[.], OR (E) SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE IN THE PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF PROBLEM GAMBLING. § 2.
