BILL NUMBER: S5365 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the authorization for imposition of additional sales tax in the county of Otsego PURPOSE : To authorize the Otsego County Board of Representatives to impose an additional one percent sales tax for a two year period SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section one amends section 1210 of the tax law to extend the authorization for Otsego County to impose an additional one percent (1%) sales tax until November 30, 2019. Section two provides the effective date. EXISTING LAW : The law expires on November 30, 2017. JUSTIFICATION : The Otsego County Board of Representatives has approved a resolution (No. 28-20170104) requesting that the New York State Legislature

SEWARD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the authorization for imposition of additional sales tax in the county of Otsego THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Clause 34 of subparagraph (i) of the opening paragraph of section 1210 of the tax law, as amended by chapter 112 of the laws of 2015, is amended to read as follows: (34) the county of Otsego is hereby further authorized and empowered to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions imposing such taxes at a rate which is one percent additional to the three percent rate authorized above in this paragraph for such county for the period beginning December first, two thousand three, and ending November thir- tieth, two thousand [seventeen] NINETEEN; § 2.
