BILL NUMBER: S6025 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to hunting in Seneca county; and to amend chapter 73 of the laws of 2015 amending the environmental conservation law relating to authorizing hunting in the county of Seneca, in relation to making such provisions permanent PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : This bill would make permanent provisions permitting the use of rifles for big game hunting in Seneca County. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Sections 1 through 3 amend the Environmental Conservation Law to permanently permit the use of rifles for big game hunting in Seneca County. Section 4 contains the effective date. EXISTING LAW : Chapter 73 of 2015 permitted the hunting of big game through the use of a rifle in all of Seneca County until October 1 2017.

HELMING -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to hunt- ing in Seneca county; and to amend chapter 73 of the laws of 2015 amending the environmental conservation law relating to authorizing hunting in the county of Seneca, in relation to making such provisions permanent THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new item (l) to read as follows: (L) THE COUNTY OF DEER AND BEAR, THE FIRST PISTOL, SHOTGUN, SENECA SATURDAY AFTER NOVEMBER CROSSBOW, MUZZLE 15 THROUGH FIRST LOADING FIREARM, SUNDAY AFTER RIFLE OR LONG DECEMBER 7 BOW ONLY § 2. Section 2 of chapter 73 of the laws of 2015 amending the environ- mental conservation law relating to authorizing hunting in the county of Seneca is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that[; a.] the amendments to item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law made by section one of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such paragraph pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended[; and b. nothing contained in this act shall be construed so as to extend the provisions of this act beyond October 1, 2017, when upon such date EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
