BILL NUMBER: S6718 TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the public authorities law relating to the construction and financing of facilities for certain public libraries, in relation to including the Southeast Steuben County Library PURPOSE : To permit the Southeast Steuben County Library to be an eligible to bond for funds with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section one of the bill authorizes the Southeast Steuben County Library to be an eligible library pursuant to Chapter 672 of the laws of 1993. JUSTIFICATION : The Southeast Steuben County Library is requesting legislation that will amend the Public Authorities Law by adding their institution as an eligible public library for the purpose of title 4 of article 8 of the public authorities law. The Southeast Steuben County Library is an Association Library that receives taxpayer support through the State Education Law 259. In New York State, Association Libraries are not

O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the public authorities law relating to the construction and financing of facili- ties for certain public libraries, in relation to including the South- east Steuben County Library THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, amending the public authorities law relating to the construction and financing of facilities for certain public libraries, is amended by adding a new subdivision 53 to read as follows: 53. SOUTHEAST STEUBEN COUNTY LIBRARY. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13071-01-7
