BILL NUMBER: S7751 SPONSOR: MARCHIONE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the real property law, in relation to filing of maps in county clerk offices PURPOSE: To authorize county clerks to establish a system to receive and retain maps utilizing electronic means. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 adds a new subdivision, 2a, to the real property law to allow county clerks to adopt systems to receive and retain maps using elec- tronic means. MARCHIONE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the real property law, in relation to filing of maps in county clerk offices THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 334 of the real property law is amended by adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows: 2-A. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISIONS IN THIS ARTICLE, A COUNTY CLERK MAY ADOPT A SYSTEM TO RECEIVE AND RETAIN MAPS UTILIZING AN ELEC- TRO-MECHANICAL, ELECTRONIC OR ANY OTHER METHOD THEY DEEM SUITABLE FOR RECEIVING AND RETAINING MAPS. § 2.
