 Introduced  by  Sen.  O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
 
 AN ACT in relation to authorizing state  reimbursement  to  the  Jasper-
   Troupsburg central school district for the purchase of school buses
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision  of  law  and  for  the
 purposes of subdivision 25 of section 1709 of the education law, all the
 acts  done  and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had
 and taken by the Jasper-Troupsburg central school  district  related  to
 the purchase of 4 school buses during 2017, namely bus fleet numbers 93,
 94,  95  and 96, for the purpose of replacing 5 school buses, namely bus
 fleet numbers 73, 76, 79, 80 and 83, shall be deemed to have been neces-
 sitated by damage to or loss of such busses 73, 76, 79, 80  and  83  for
 purposes of subdivision 25 of section 1709 of the education law, and the
 Jasper-Troupsburg  central  school  district shall be eligible for state
 reimbursement of the cost of such busses 93, 94,  95  and  96,  notwith-
 standing the failure of the Jasper-Troupsburg central school district to
 comply  with  subdivision 25 of section 1709 of the education law or any
 other provision of the education law.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
