BILL NUMBER: S8730 SPONSOR: RITCHIE TITLE OF BILL: An act relating to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming a transportation contract of the Fulton city school district PURPOSE: This bill would correct a clerical error between the Fulton City School District and the State Education Department in the 2016-2017 school year in effort to restore Transportation aid to the Fulton City School District. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 legalizes, validates, ratifies, and confirms the transporta- tion contract of E006115 of the 2016-2017 school year. Section 2 directs the Department of Education to consider the contract for transportation aid as valid and proper.

RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT relating to legalizing, validating, ratifying and confirming a transportation contract of the Fulton city school district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had and taken by the Fulton City School District and by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to or in connection with transportation contract E006115 of the 2016-2017 school year, and all acts incidental hereto are hereby legalized, vali- dated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract award, approval and filing provisions of the education law, the general municipal law or any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or regulation, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect, irregularity or ille- gality in such proceeding had and taken. § 2. The department of education is hereby directed to consider the aforementioned contract for transportation aid as valid and proper obli- gations of the Fulton City School District. § 3.
