BILL NUMBER: S7946 SPONSOR: MARCHIONE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the general municipal law, in relation to the local administration of empire zones PURPOSE OF BILL: The proposed legislation amends the General Municipal Law to remove the requirement that businesses whose QEZE benefit period has ended must file business annual reports with the Department. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of the proposed legislation amends the general municipal law to require only business still receiving QEZE benefits to have to submit business annual reports to the Department. Section 2 of the proposed legislation provides that the proposed legis- lation is to take effect immediately upon the effective date of the bill.

MARCHIONE -- (at request of the Empire State Develop- ment) -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to the local administration of empire zones THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The opening paragraph of subdivision (f) of section 963 of the general municipal law, as amended by section 8 of part S-1 of chap- ter 57 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as follows: All certified businesses, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THOSE WHOSE BENEFIT PERIOD AS A QEZE BUSINESS ENTERPRISE HAS EXPIRED, are required to provide a certified annual report to the local zone administration board which report shall include but not be limited to the following: § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14355-01-8
