O'DONNELL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the disclo- sure of disabled tenants' rights to reasonable accommodations THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 296 of the executive law is amended by adding a new subdivision 2-b to read as follows: 2-B. EVERY OWNER, LESSEE, SUB-LESSEE, ASSIGNEE, OR MANAGING AGENT OF PUBLICLY-ASSISTED HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS OR OTHER PERSON HAVING THE RIGHT OF OWNERSHIP OR POSSESSION OF OR THE RIGHT TO RENT OR LEASE SUCH ACCOMMODATIONS SHALL DISCLOSE TO ALL TENANTS AND PROSPECTIVE TENANTS OF THEIR RIGHT TO REQUEST REASONABLE MODIFICATIONS AND ACCOMMODATIONS IF THEY HAVE A DISABILITY PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION TWO-A OF THIS SECTION. § 2. Section 296 of the executive law is amended by adding a new subdivision 18-a to read as follows: 18-A. EVERY OWNER, LESSEE, SUB-LESSEE, ASSIGNEE, OR MANAGING AGENT OF, OR OTHER PERSON HAVING THE RIGHT OF OWNERSHIP OF OR POSSESSION OF OR THE RIGHT TO RENT OR LEASE HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS SHALL DISCLOSE TO ALL TENANTS AND PROSPECTIVE TENANTS OF THEIR RIGHT TO REQUEST REASONABLE MODIFICATIONS AND ACCOMMODATIONS IF THEY HAVE A DISABILITY PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION EIGHTEEN OF THIS SECTION. § 3. SUCH DISCLOSURE SHALL ALSO BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED IN SUCH FORM AND MANNER AS THE DIVISION MAY BY REGULATION PRESCRIBE ON EVERY VACANT PUBLICLY-AS- SISTED HOUSING ACCOMMODATION THAT IS AVAILABLE FOR RENT. § 2. Section 296 of the executive law is amended by adding a new subdivision 18-a to read as follows: 18-A.
