BILL NUMBER: S1724 SPONSOR: SKOUFIS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to post- ing information regarding the issuance of permits for a public water supply on the department of environmental conservation's website PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Establishes transparency by posting information regarding the issuance of permits for a public water supply on the department of environmental conservation's website. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Amends Section 15-1503 of the environmental conservation law to require certain information be reported and published on the DEC website.

SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to post- ing information regarding the issuance of permits for a public water supply on the department of environmental conservation's website THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 15-1503 of the environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 7. FOR EACH PERMIT ISSUED FOR A PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL POST ON THE DEPARTMENT'S WEBSITE THE PERMITTEE, THE MAXIMUM PUMPING CAPACITY ALLOWED UNDER THE PERMIT, THE RESULTS OF WELL MONITORING, AND THE INFORMATION REPORTED PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION SIX OF SECTION 15-1501 OF THIS TITLE. § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD07329-01-9
