BILL NUMBER: S2686 SPONSOR: MAYER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the real property tax law, in relation to taxation of state lands in the town of Bedford in Westchester county PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: This bill relates to the taxation of state lands in the Town of Bedford in Westchester County. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 of the bill adds state land in the Town of Bedford in West- chester County to the tax rolls. Section 2 of the bill ensures that state land in the Town of Bedford in Westchester County is subject to school property taxation.

MAYER, HARCKHAM -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to taxation of state lands in the town of Bedford in Westchester county THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 532 of the real property tax law is amended by adding a new subdivision (l) to read as follows: (L) ALL LANDS OWNED BY THE STATE IN THE TOWN OF BEDFORD IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY, EXCLUSIVE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS ERECTED THEREON BY THE STATE. § 2. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 1 of section 536 of the real proper- ty tax law is amended to read as follows: (b) Lands owned by the state, exclusive of the improvements erected thereon by the state, situate in the following towns: County Town Cattaraugus Carrollton Cold Spring Elko Great Valley Red House Salamanca South Valley Clinton Ellenburg Dutchess Hyde Park Poughkeepsie Greene Coxsackie Oneida Lee Marcy Trenton EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
