 AN ACT to amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and  breeding  law,  in
   relation to coupled entries
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. The  racing,  pari-mutuel  wagering  and  breeding  law  is
 amended by adding a new section 258 to read as follows:
   § 258. COUPLED ENTRIES. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY LAW, RULE OR REGULATION TO
 THE CONTRARY, ALL HORSES TRAINED OR RIDDEN BY A SPOUSE, PARENT, ISSUE OR
 MEMBER  OF A JOCKEY'S HOUSEHOLD SHALL NOT BE COUPLED IN THE BETTING WITH
 ANY HORSE RIDDEN BY SUCH JOCKEY. THE RACETRACK OPERATOR SHALL TAKE  SUCH
 ACTIONS  AS ARE NECESSARY TO INFORM THE PUBLIC ADEQUATELY WITH REGARD TO
 THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANY SUCH JOCKEY OR TRAINER.
   § 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
