BILL NUMBER: S2998 SPONSOR: HARCKHAM TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public health law, in relation to making certified peer recovery advocate telehealth services eligible for reimbursement PURPOSE: To amend the public health law, to include audio-only and video-only telehealth and telemedicine services in those telehealth and telemedi- cine services eligible for reimbursement and making certified peer recovery advocate services eligible for such reimbursement SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 2999-cc of the public health law is amended by expanding the definition of "Telehealth" to include audio- only telephone communication. This would require the Commissioner of Health to approve audio-only telephone communications for Medicaid and

Subdivision 2 of section 2999-cc of the public health law is amended by adding a new paragraph (t-1) to read as follows: (T-1) CERTIFIED PEER RECOVERY ADVOCATE SERVICES PROVIDERS CERTIFIED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF ADDICTION SERVICES AND SUPPORTS PURSUANT TO SECTION 19.18-B OF THE MENTAL HYGIENE LAW AND PEERS CERTIFIED BY THE OFFICE OF MENTAL HEALTH; § 2.
