BILL NUMBER: S6392 SPONSOR: REICHLIN-MELNICK TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 329 of the laws of 2009, amending the family court act and the social services law relating to removing special powers granted to the society for the prevention of cruelty to children, in relation to the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE: This bill will extend the operations for the Rockland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children for two years until August 11, 2023. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section one of the bill amends chapter 15 of the laws of 2019 to extend the expiration for two years in relation to the Rockland County SPCC until August 11, 2023.

REICHLIN-MELNICK -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend chapter 329 of the laws of 2009, amending the family court act and the social services law relating to removing special powers granted to the society for the prevention of cruelty to chil- dren, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 14 of chapter 329 of the laws of 2009, amending the family court act and the social services law relating to removing special powers granted to the society for the prevention of cruelty to children, as amended by chapter 155 of the laws of 2019, is amended to read as follows: § 14. This act shall take effect immediately; provided that the provisions of sections eight and ten of this act shall expire August 11, [2021] 2023 and section thirteen of this act shall expire December 31, 2017, when upon such dates the provisions of such sections shall be deemed repealed. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10992-01-1
