BILL NUMBER: S7711 SPONSOR: PARKER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend a chapter of the laws of 2021 relating to directing the president of the state civil service commission to publish reports relating to diversity within the state government, as proposed in legis- lative bills numbers S. 4746 and A. 2439, in relation to diversity with- in executive state agencies, authorities, boards, bureaus, commissions, departments and divisions under executive control PURPOSE: This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to provisions of L.2021, c.615. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation amends the underlying chapter by amending the types of agencies subject to the reports and the deadline for the reports.

PARKER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2021 relating to directing the president of the state civil service commission to publish reports relating to diversity within the state government, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 4746 and A. 2439, in relation to diversi- ty within executive state agencies, authorities, boards, bureaus, commissions, departments and divisions under executive control THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1 of a chapter of the laws of 2021 relating to directing the president of the state civil service commission to publish reports relating to diversity within the state government, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 4746 and A. 2439, is amended to read as follows: Section 1. The president of the state civil service commission within the department of civil service is hereby directed to study and publish annual reports recording AVAILABLE data relating to diversity within [the state and civil divisions thereof as well as appointments to all] EXECUTIVE state agencies, authorities, boards, bureaus, commissions, departments and divisions UNDER EXECUTIVE CONTROL. The president of the state civil service commission shall annually publish such reports and findings. Such reports shall be sent to the chair of the senate standing committee on investigations and government operations and to the chair of the assembly standing committee on governmental employees no later than the first of [February] JULY in each year. § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2021 relating to directing the presi- dent of the state civil service commission to publish reports relating to diversity within the state government, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 4746 and A. 2439, takes effect.
