BILL NUMBER: S7776 SPONSOR: MAY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend a chapter of the laws of 2021 enacting the "reimagining long-term care task force" creating a task force to study the state of long-term care services in this state, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 598-B and A. 3922-A, in relation to the membership of such task force and the effectiveness of such provisions PURPOSE: This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to provisions of L.2021, c.758. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: - This legislation amends the underlying chapter by changing some of the language: "his or her" became "they" or "their"; "appointed by" became "on the recommendation of".

MAY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2021 enacting the "reimagining long-term care task force" creating a task force to study the state of long-term care services in this state, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 598-B and A. 3922-A, in relation to the membership of such task force and the effectiveness of such provisions THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Sections 3, 4 and 5 of a chapter of the laws of 2021 enact- ing the "reimagining long-term care task force" creating a task force to study the state of long-term care services in this state, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 598-B and A. 3922-A, are amended to read as follows: § 3. Membership. 1. The reimagining long-term care task force shall consist of 26 members [as follows] AND SHALL INCLUDE: (a) the director of the office for the aging, or [his or her] THEIR designee; (b) the commissioner of health, or [his or her] THEIR designee; (c) the commissioner of labor, or [his or her] THEIR designee; AND (d) the commissioner of the office for people with developmental disa- bilities, or [his or her] THEIR designee[; (e) two]. THE REMAINING TWENTY-TWO members SHALL BE appointed by the governor[; (f)], INCLUDING two members [appointed by] ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF the temporary president of the senate; [(g)] two members [appointed by] ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF the speaker of the assembly; [(h)] one member [appointed by] ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF the minority leader of the senate; [(i)] one member [appointed by] ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF the minority leader of the assembly; [(j)] one representative of the AARP; [(k)] one representative of New York Caring Majority; EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
