BILL NUMBER: S9121 SPONSOR: MAYER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 667 of the laws of 2021 amending the general business law relating to establishing a set grace period for the use of credit card reward points, in relation to the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Chapter amendment to extend the effectiveness of chapter 667 of the laws of 2021 by one year. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 moves the effective date of section 520-e of the general busi- ness law from December 10, 2022, to December 10, 2023. Section 2 sets the effective date.

MAYER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Consumer Protection AN ACT to amend chapter 667 of the laws of 2021 amending the general business law relating to establishing a set grace period for the use of credit card reward points, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 667 of the laws of 2021, amending the general business law relating to establishing a set grace period for the use of credit card reward points, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect [one year] TWO YEARS after it shall have become a law, and shall apply to all credit card agreements entered into, renewed, modified or amended on or after such effective date. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15765-01-2
