 AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to providing for  the
   New  York state of health to help veterans ascertain their eligibility
   for healthcare through the department of veterans affairs

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 268-c of the public health law is amended by adding
 a new subdivision 26 to read as follows:
   26.  ASCERTAIN  IF  A MARKETPLACE APPLICANT IS ELIGIBLE FOR HEALTHCARE
 THROUGH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS AND, IF  ELIGI-
 BLE   FOR  SUCH  HEALTHCARE,  PROVIDE  THE  MARKETPLACE  APPLICANT  WITH
 RESOURCES TO ALLOW THEM TO MEET WITH A LOCAL INTAKE COORDINATOR WITH THE
 UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT  OF  VETERANS  AFFAIRS.  SUCH  RESOURCES  SHALL
 INCLUDE,  BUT  NOT  BE  LIMITED  TO,  HELP SCHEDULING A MEETING WITH THE
 INTAKE COORDINATOR.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
 have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
 repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
 this act on its effective date are authorized to be made  and  completed
 on or before such effective date.
