Requires the New York State energy research and development authority to develop a real-time mobile application with a corresponding map with information on electric vehicle charging stations and to make such information available on the authority's website; requires the mobile application and website to include an interactive real-time map with the addresses of each electric vehicle charging station in the state and the number of charging stations at each location, the operability of charging stations, whether the charging station is located in a parking lot, parking garage or on a street, whether there are fees required to use a charging station, and where to report operational issues with charging stations.

BARRETT -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Energy AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring the New York State energy research and development authority to develop a real-time mobile application with a corresponding map with information on electric vehicle charging stations and to make such information available on the authority's website THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new section 1885 to read as follows: § 1885. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION INTERACTIVE MAP. 1. THE AUTHORITY, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND THE POWER AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, SHALL POST ON ITS WEBSITE AND DEVELOP A CORRESPONDING MOBILE APPLICATION WITH INFORMATION ON ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC UTILIZATION. THIS WEBSITE AND CORRESPONDING MOBILE APPLICATION SHALL INCLUDE AT A MINIMUM: (A) AN INTERACTIVE MAP WITH THE ADDRESSES OF EACH ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION IN THE STATE AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC UTILIZATION THAT INCLUDES GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) CAPABILITY; (B) THE NUMBER OF CHARGING STATIONS IN EACH LOCATION; (C) TO THE EXTENT FEASIBLE, THE OPERABILITY STATUS OF CHARGING STATIONS, INCLUDING WHETHER CHARGING STATIONS ARE CURRENTLY IN USE AND WHETHER CHARGING STATIONS ARE OUT OF SERVICE OR OTHERWISE UNAVAILABLE; (D) WHETHER CHARGING STATIONS ARE LEVEL TWO OR LEVEL THREE FAST CHAR- GERS; (E) PLUG OR VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION; (F) OPERATING HOURS; (G) WHETHER CHARGING STATIONS ARE LOCATED IN A PARKING LOT, PARKING GARAGE OR ON A STREET; EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
